Overview of Women's Health & Counseling Center

Since 1973, Women's Health & Counseling Center (WHCC) has been serving residents in the Somerset County area and strives to respond to the needs of women by offering coordinated services with a holistic approach to prevention, education and counseling. Services have expanded from reproductive health services to a comprehensive level that includes preventive and personalized healthcare for over 2,300 clients as well as education, counseling, and support programs for thousands of others. The development of WHCC's services, from family planning and primary care to sexual assault support services, stems from the compounded health and social issues women face.

Mission

Women's Health & Counseling Center is a community-based, non-profit provider of personalized health care for women, particularly those who may not be able to obtain such services from traditional providers due to monetary, cultural, language or other barriers.

Our goal is to provide a safe haven where compassionate and high quality services are available. These include medical and preventive care, and counseling and support programs. We promote healthier communities by educating women to make informed health care choices.

Statement of Values and Code of Ethics

Any code of ethics is built on a foundation of widely shared values. The values of Women’s Health & Counseling Center (WHCC) include:

  • Respect for the worth and dignity of individuals, both our clients and employees
  • Respect for pluralism and diversity
  • Transparency, integrity and honesty
  • Responsible stewardship of resources
  • Commitment to excellence and to maintaining the public trust
