The Women's Health Benefit is Women’s Health & Counseling Center’s (WHCC)
largest and most important annual fundraiser attracting over 300
corporate, business and social leaders from the areas surrounding
Somerset County.
The event will be held
on Saturday, September 26,
2009 at the Bridgewater Marriott in
Bridgewater, NJ.
The 2009 honoree for the Women's Health Benefit is
Deborah Dagit, Chief Diversity Officer and Vice
President - Diversity & Work Environment, Merck &
Co., Inc.
We will laud Ms. Dagit
for her leadership and commitment to ensure equal
rights. Her tireless efforts, and her visible
presence as a leader with a physical disability, make her a strong
role model for women to achieve their goals
notwithstanding barriers.
Lights, Camera, A Call to
Action!
Celebrating 36 years of providing high-quality, low-cost health services to the community, WHCC is a beacon of hope to many women who otherwise fall through the cracks of traditional health care.
The
Women's Health Benefit raises needed funds to enable WHCC to deliver quality health care and support services for women in need.
To highlight the important
work of the agency and to motivate others to get
involved, the theme of this year’s annual Women’s
Health Benefit is “Lights,
Camera, A Call to Action”
Our annual fundraising benefit provides us with the
opportunity to shed light on the array of services
that we provide to many women who would otherwise
fall through the cracks of traditional health care.
The benefit is also a call to action for everyone to
support our goals, through donations, personal
involvement as a volunteer or a board member and
help us deliver the quality care everyone deserves.
In these difficult economic times our Benefit
Committee is working tirelessly to ensure we run the
most efficient and effective event so that all funds
raised are directly dedicated to patient programs
Guests of the Benefit will enjoy stylish decor, a
savory menu created by the Marriott's Executive Chef
and the mellifluous sounds of the Peter Duchin
Orchestra. The Benefit features a
silent auction
where guests can bid on unique and luxurious items,
including art, jewelry, dining, travel, and
entertainment. We will also hold a rousing
live auction
that showcases breath-taking
fine jewelry and exclusive vacations.
The 2008 Benefit
raised over $115,000 for WHCC and was funded by over
300 corporate, business, and social leaders. Last
year’s select sponsors included, amongst others,
Arnold & Porter LLP., Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP.,
Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, Johnson &
Johnson PRD, Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems,
Merck & Co., Inc., Ortho-McNeil, Ortho Clinical
