Somerset County is one of the five wealthiest counties in the United States. Yet in Somerset County, over 30,000 are medically uninsured. Even more remain underinsured. Additionally the cost of healthcare is rising much faster than people's wages. Thus the demand for affordable, high quality healthcare, and the services Women's Health & Counseling Center (WHCC) provides are even more critical to the community.

A donation to WHCC will help provide medical and preventive care, health education, and sexual assault support services to over 10,000 individuals annually.

  • $25 can support one counseling session for a sexual assault survivor

  • $50 can support 3 annual basic cervical cancer screenings

  • $100 can support 5 cholesterol screenings

  • $325 can support a full day of health education at a local high school reaching approximately 270 students

Your gift WILL make a healthy difference in the community.

Planned Giving

There are several types of planned giving which would allow you to make donations to Women's Health & Counseling Center while generating tax or estate benefits:

  • Appreciated Assets: Gifts of assets that have increased in value (e.g. stocks and real estate) may allow you to save on both income and capital gains taxes.

  • Charitable Trusts: With amounts over $100,000, two types of larger gift trusts, Lead and Remainder, offer tax and estate planning advantages.

  • Gift Annuities: Purchasing these allows you to provide for your and/or your family's future while making a significant gift to WHCC. Other benefits include stability (not subject to market fluctuation), variety (cash, appreciated stock or other assets) and tax deductions.

  • Bequests: You can include WHCC in your will as either a specific bequest or as last contingent beneficiary. This is the simplest planned gift but might also have positive estate ramifications.

For more information on how to contribute through planning giving, please email Frances Palm, Executive Director or call 908-526-2335 ext. 128.
