Health Services

Women's Health & Counseling Center (WHCC) has been an integral community resource for women for 35 years. WHCC works to reduce the financial, ethnic, language or other barriers that prevent women from obtaining the services they need. WHCC's goal is to provide a safe haven where compassionate and high-quality services are available. These include medical and preventive care, and counseling and support programs. We promote healthier communities by educating women to make informed health care choices.

To help us make services available to as many women as possible, WHCC has joined into a number of successful partnerships that benefit our clients. Some of these collaborative ventures have linked WHCC with the American Cancer Society, Alternatives, Middle Earth, Resource Center for Women and Their Families, St. Peters University Hospital, and Somerset Medical Center

Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Initiative (APPI)/ Teens Achieving Goals (TAG)
We work one-on-one with teens to help reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy using medical, social and educational resources.

Benevolent Drug Program
Thanks to local drug companies, medicine you need to treat illnesses we diagnose can often be secured at very low prices or for free.

Cancer Education and Early Detection Program (CEED)
Women and men who are uninsured and meet financial eligibility can obtain free screenings for breast, cervical, and prostate cancers at WHCC.

Community Education
WHCC's health educators, nurses and other professionals visit schools and community groups with educational programs on medical- and health-related topics.

HIV Counseling and Testing
We'll answer all your questions about HIV before testing for the disease. If your test results are positive, we counsel, refer and guide you to supportive assistance.

Information and Referrals
If we don't offer a health service you or your family needs, we'll give you information to get you to the right place-one with the same level of quality care as WHCC.
