Sexual violence is any form of
unwanted, unwelcome or coercive sexual contact.
This exists on a continuum, from sexual harassment
to inappropriate touching and unwanted penetration.

Sexual assault is mostly perpetrated
by the people we know and trust. Over 80% of all
sexual assaults are committed by acquaintances,
friends, family members, significant others and
spouses.

Sexual assault is not motivated by
sexual desire or lust. It is a form of violence
that is sexual in nature with intentions of
controlling, overpowering, and degrading a survivor.

Sexual assault can happen to anyone,
regardless of gender, race, class, socioeconomic
status, or sexual identity.
·
Sexual assault is never
the fault of the survivor!
